Introduction to Persian Music: Series
Description
This 4-week Musical Passport series will introduce the basic principles of Persian music (classical and folk music of Iran) through live demonstration of musical instruments, listening examples, basic elements of modal, music theory, and visual illustrations. Students will have the opportunity to try their hand at playing some Persian musical instruments, explore various playing techniques, compare with Western instruments, and closely examine methods for creating the variety of sound textures found in Persian music.
Classes take place on Wednesdays: 11:30am – 12:30pm
October 2, 9, 16 & 23
Series: $90
Senior Series: $75
Classes will be available to current 2025/26 members beginning on June 5 @ 7pm.
